The present law concerning the allowance High Rate Mobility Allowance
component disbarrs people of 65 and over from claiming this benefit.
This is surely discrimination against a section of our society who may
be more in need of assistance with their mobility than any other.
We want the government to remove the age limit for claiming Disability
Living Allowance Mobility Component or its proposed successor altogether
and backdate such a change for a period of five years.
